Sebastian's Life in a Blog: Three months...Time flies when you are having fun!

Time has surely flown! Sebastian just turned 3 months and the last time I updated this blog he had just been born! It sure is true that these first few months are the most tiring and when the most adjustment needs to happen but it is sooooooooo worth it! I love my baby!

So what has gone on these last three months. A few highlights:

May

Grandma came to visit and welcome Sebastian home

5/12 - Weight: 6 lb 4.5 oz

5/14 - Weight: 6 lb 7.5 oz; Height: 1' 7"

5/16 - Sebastian and Omar Manchester met. These two will be little partners in crime!

5/19 - Sebastian had a kidney ultrasound. Cysts still present in right kidney. Urologist asked that a Sebastian have a VCUG to see if there is any reflux of urine back to the kidney.

Tia Olivia also came to meet Sebastian

5/25 - Umbilical cord fell off

5/26 - Weight: 6 lb 8.4 oz - Sebastian only gained an ounce in 12 days so Pediatrician had me feed him every 2 1/2 - 3 hours and supplement with formula when needed. He should be gaining an ounce a day.

5/28 - Weight: 6 lb 11.6 oz - Gained 3 ounces in 2 days!!!

June

6/5 - Took first bus ride downtown with Mommy to celebrate 4 week birthday! Met Tia Ashley visiting from Galveston and also had dinner with Tia Solskin at Millennium Park.

6/8 - Sebastian turned 1 month!

6/9 - Weight: 7 lb 14.5 oz; Height: 1' 2" - Gained 1 lb 3 oz and grew 2 inches!

Grandpa Ramiro and family came to meet Sebastian

6/12 - Sebastian had VCUG. Sebastian cried through all the procedure but Mommy comforted him during the procedure and Daddy comforted him afterwards by giving him a bottle. Results were normal--no reflux. Will perform another ultrasound at 6 months to see how kidneys are developing.

6/15 - had first playdate with Sachin--other little partner in crime!

6/16 - took first bath in the bath tub

Tio Eddie, Tia Adriana, and cousins Eddie and Cecy came to visit Sebastian for a long weekend and Eddie and Cecy hung out a few more days.

Sebastian also met Tia Meme, Tio Wilson, and Julia who were visiting from Tulsa, OK.

Doctors cleared Mommy!

July

7/4 - Sebastian's first 4th of July. Celebrated with a BBQ at Tia Pagan and Tio Joey's

7/8 - Sebastian turned 2 months!

7/9 - Weight: 10lb 2.6 oz - Gained 2 lbs 4 ozs in one month! In 10 - 25 percentile for his age but Pediatrician said that what matters is that he grows as he is. Got 2 month vaccines. He slept a lot that day and was fussy when he woke up but by the end of the day he was fine.

7/23 - Met Madrina Carmen--Great Grandma Tencha's Best Friend Forever

7/25 - Sebastian went to his first birthday party - Jayden Pagan turned 3! Started to notice that he has outgrown Newborn size.

7/28 - Mommy back to work after 12 weeks of maternity leave :-(

Month of sleep training (in pack and play bassinet for naps), started drooling, bottle training because he stopped wanting the bottle, lots of smiling and drooling, noticed himself in the mirror, started to hear him snoring quietly, and hair started to curl.

August

8/4 - Sebastian had his first professional pictures taken to mark his 3 month birthday. He didn't cry throughout the sessions...but he also didn't smile as much :-(

8/7 - First plane ride on Southwest Airlines from MDW to LAX. Sebastian did great! He slept most of the way! Met Tia Chayo and Tio Ralph.

8/8 - Sebastian turned 3 months! Celebrated at Tio Eddies 40th Birthday Surprise Party in Santa Ana, California. Met more family!

8/10 - Went to first professional baseball game - Angels vs. Rays

8/11 - Flew back to Chicago. Sebastian did great again! Had a passenger tap me on the shoulder and say that Sebastian was the best behaved baby he has flown with!!! Sebastian slept, woke up and smiled at the boy sitting next to us, and then went back to sleep about 1/2 hour later.
